KwaThema – The KwaThema Socio-Economic Organisation (KTSEO) has partnered with the Department of Basic Education (Gauteng East District) for a charity golf event.
The golf tournament will take place on April 26 at State Mines Country Club in Brakpan.
 Kwatsaduza golfers close the year
Sipho Nkabinde from the KTSEO says the non-profit organisation (NPO) was established by eminent people in KwaThema to develop the community they live in. “We didn’t want to sit around complaining while waiting on the government to come to rescue us,” says Nkabinde.
The organisation was registered in 2016 and serves the community of Kwatsaduza.
“For the past three years we have managed to assist more than 90 students with registration fee because bursaries normally start paying their fees once they have registered,” adds Nkabinde.
For this upcoming tournament, they have partnered with the following company: Springs Mall, PFG Glass, Glassfit and Aphane Consulting.
They have 104 registered players and have managed to raise over R87 000.
Winners will get prizes. The first prize is set to be a trip to Thailand.
Katlego Mogafe, the event organiser, says to add to the golf tournament, they will have an auction after the game to raise R40 000.

There will be a golf clinic on the day for people who do not understand golf and are interested to learn more about the sport.
The lessons will be offered at a discounted price of R50.
